The Location

St. Mellion is a small village in South East Cornwall that is well situated for access to the full range of local facilities. There are restaurants, pubs and shops close by and local estates and farms offer horse riding - as well as fresh local produce such as eggs, cream and Cornish pasties!

Nearby there are National Trust properties at Cotehele and Lanhydrock, and slightly further afield, the magnificent Lost Gardens of Heligan and, of course, the world-famous Eden Project and many of the locations used in the BBC Poldark series such as Charlestown, Gunwalloe, Porthgwarra and St Agnes (to name a few).

The region offers excellent walking on Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor and there are superb beaches within a 20-30 minute drive.

Plymouth is within easy reach, with good shops and many interesting places to visit including the Barbican with the National Marine Aquarium and the Hoe with the recently re-opened magnificent Art Deco Tinside Lido.

For those wishing to avoid the hustle and bustle, the traditional fishing villages of Looe and Polperro, with their maze of narrow streets and picturesque harbours, provide a perfect day out.
